PostProduction
Editing Theory

I worked for 29 years for the BBC. The first twenty of those were spent in the cutting room, as assistant editor and editor. When I left the cutting room I worked as a manager and internal consultant for Film Department. During this time a gave a number of talks and lectures and this section offers a couple of pieces I wrote at that time. One is a very partial account of some of the key developments in post production since world war two. The other is a first attempt at developing a theory of editing.
